Book 1: Missing Pieces

WITH Foreword by top UK Comedy Magician John Archer

The first e-Book in the ‘Book Series’ from the warped mind of Matt Colman.

[custom_frame_right][/custom_frame_right] [dropcap]A[/dropcap] book of card routines and ideas for the intermediate – mildly advanced card mechanics, and may intrigue or receive pity from the advanced masters of advanced mastery of card technique. Peppered lightly with bizarre and often crude humour to make it endurable. It’s terribly and childishly written in (most) parts. There’s also a coin thing, for people that like coin things.  Not only is this book completely unethical and lacks proper credits and sources, it also plagiarizes and edits quotes to give the impression that Matt Colman has spent decades following intellectuals, to find the perfect quotes for his book. All in all it’s a disgrace to magical literature. And there are no pictures – apart from the front cover, back cover, two in the middle and a lovely picture of Martin Lewis and John Archer. Did I mention the ugly type faces, boring layouts, spelling and grammar errors?

If you have spent years and months learning moves such as the pass and the second deal, and then you’ve spent months and years wondering why you bothered to learn them – this book is for you! The book will bridge the gap with well structured routines that cuts out a lot of unnecessary junk by utilizing these moves, the ‘harder’ moves. Don’t panic if you can’t do them yet, there are also a few easier things that will quench your thirst until you can!

Most of these routines are from Matt’s repertoire – it’s high quality ideas and routines that lovers of pasteboards and humour will appreciate.

Here’s what others are saying:

I just finished reading the book and it’s really good. I love your style of writing. The explanations were thorough and I enjoyed how it seemed to veer away from conventional writing and format of magic books. Very enjoyable a good read and it’s really funny, and I laughed very frequently…

– Ian Baker

There’s a rather irritating trend forming in magic, where every effect in a book has been in the authors ‘working repertoire for 20 years’, how long are these guys sets?

Luckily, Matt Colman isn’t one of those authors, the effects in ‘Missing Pieces’ are a diverse selection of either well worked performances or, by his own admission ‘Pipe Dreams and Concepts’.

It makes for a very refreshing read, there’s some absolute gems in there, some promising ideas to adapt and develop and some incredibly honest and thought provoking ideas on getting more from your performances.

Add to all this Colman’s innate ability to amuse, his non conventional style of writing and the clear and concise descriptions of the 12 effects and you have ‘Missing Pieces’, a brilliant first literal outing for an incredibly talented performer.

I look forward to reading more.

The Ebook looks great! Thanks again.

Not my cup of tea

– Matt Colman

You can read this book anywhere, but I recommend on the bog. I like to think the amazing sponge ball magic I showed Matt many moons ago spurred him on to be the creative genius he is now. All of the ideas in this book were stolen from me. Matt devised a method for stealing thoughts before they have been perceived, however I can’t do most of them so I don’t mind. Superb, Brilliantly Witty, Absolutely outstanding, and a wonderfully intelligent thinker, are all things said about me, and Matt’s pretty good too. Love the book.

– Dan Burgess

Funniest Ebook I’ve Ever Read! Really well written!! I think its great!!

– Peter Carroll

It was a hilarious and fascinating read, I can’t wait to try out some of these ideas!…

– Richard Abraham

Not only where the explanations well written, it was a great read. I loved your humor and the non-conventional style of writing.

– Alex Connor

This e-book made me laugh a lot. I didn’t expect that as I wasn’t aware of Matt’s silly sense of humor.

I especially appreciated “Upside for two” and the Oil&Water [Water out of an oily world] routine.

A very imaginative e-book

– Raphaël Czaja

Just want to commend you, Mr. Colman, on a well written e-book.
